Name Our Mascot Competition — Terms and Conditions

This competition ("the Competition") is run by De Beer Digital Ltd ("the Promoter", "we", "us", "our").

This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with LinkedIn or any other social media platform used to promote it.

2.1 The Competition is open only to registered childcare nurseries based in the United Kingdom.

2.2 Entrants must be an authorised representative of the nursery (e.g. owner, manager, or other staff member with authority to enter on the nursery's behalf and to commit the nursery to the prize terms if selected as winner).

2.3 The Competition is not open to employees, contractors, or immediate family members of De Beer Digital Ltd.

2.4 One entry per nursery. Multiple entries from the same nursery will be disqualified, or only the first valid entry will be counted, at the Promoter's discretion.

2.5 The Promoter reserves the right to request reasonable evidence of eligibility (e.g. confirmation of nursery registration/Ofsted number) before confirming a winner. Failure to provide this may result in disqualification.

3.1 To enter, complete the entry form at https://dbd-schools.co.uk/nursery-website-competition, providing:

• Your name
• Your organisation (nursery) name
• Your email address
• Your suggested name for our mascot

3.2 No purchase is necessary to enter.

3.3 Entries must be submitted by 11:59pm on 29th July 2026. Entries received after this time will not be counted.

3.4 Entries submitted anonymously (from the Promoter's judging perspective) will be considered — see Section 4.

4.1 All eligible entries will be reviewed anonymously by the Promoter's internal team.

4.2 The winning name will be selected by internal vote, based on how well it reflects the Promoter's values (fast, proactive, stewardly, collaborative) and connection to Corby and Tower Hamlets, as set out in the "Tips for naming" guidance published alongside this Competition.

4.3 Where multiple entrants submit the same or substantially the same name, the winning entrant from among those duplicate submissions will be selected at random. Other entrants who submitted that name will be offered the runner-up rate described in Section 6.

4.4 The judging decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome.

5.1 The winner will be notified by email on or around 3rd August 2026, using the email address provided at entry.

5.2 The winner must respond within 7 days of notification to claim the prize. If no response is received within this time, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize offer and select an alternative winner from the remaining entries.

5.3 The Promoter may, at its discretion, publicly announce the winning nursery name and mascot name on its website and social media channels.

6.1 The winning nursery will receive:

• A fully custom 6-page website (3 page templates used across the 6 pages)
• A 30-second homepage hero video
• A 2-minute testimonial-style interview video
• 4 hours of photography

for a total cost of £350 + VAT, against a usual market value of over £5,000.

6.2 The Competition is for a single website covering one nursery location. It is not location-based — a multi-site nursery group may choose to represent multiple locations within the single 6-page site, at their discretion. Nursery groups wishing to produce additional, separately discounted sites for other locations based on the same template should contact the Promoter directly to discuss requirements and pricing.

6.3 Domain registration and website hosting are not included in the prize. These are available separately at the Promoter's standard rates (currently £12/year for domain registration and £20/month for hosting), or the winner may choose to arrange their own hosting elsewhere.

6.4 All prices stated exclude VAT, which will be added where applicable.

6.5 The website will be built using the Promoter's custom CMS, SiteLive, by default. If the winner intends to self-host the website rather than use the Promoter's hosting, they may instead choose to receive the website as a static HTML/CSS build or as a WordPress theme. This choice must be confirmed with the Promoter before development begins.

6.6 Entrants who submitted a duplicate winning name (see Section 4.3) will be offered the same website package at a runner-up rate of £649 + VAT.

6.7 The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any alternative prize.

6.8 The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with one of equivalent or greater value if circumstances beyond its reasonable control make it necessary to do so.

6.9 The £350 fee covers the scope of work outlined in 6.1 only. Any additional pages, functionality, revision rounds beyond those set out in the Promoter's standard project process, or content beyond the agreed scope will be quoted separately.

7.1 By entering, you grant the Promoter the right to use the mascot name you submit, free of charge, for any purpose connected with the Promoter's business, including marketing and branding, without further payment or attribution obligation.

7.2 If your nursery is selected as the winner, you agree that the Promoter may reference your nursery's name and the completed website as a case study/portfolio piece, including in future marketing materials, unless you request otherwise in writing.

8.1 The Promoter will only use the personal data submitted as part of this Competition (name, organisation, email address) to administer the Competition, contact entrants regarding its outcome, and, where you have separately opted in, for future marketing communications.

8.2 Data will be handled in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. For details of how the Promoter handles data more generally, see https://dbd-schools.co.uk/privacy-policy.

9.1 The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with these Terms and Conditions, or that it reasonably believes to be fraudulent, abusive, or made in bad faith.

9.2 The Promoter reserves the right to cancel, amend, or suspend this Competition, or these Terms and Conditions, where necessary to do so, without prior notice, for reasons outside of its control.

9.3 The Promoter's liability in connection with this Competition is limited to the value of the prize. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

9.4 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
